Daniel H. Robinson, minister of the Gospel

We are pleased to introduce to you, our minister, Daniel Robinson. Dan, as he likes to be called, was born March 18, 1949, in Highland Park, Michigan. He grew up in a Christian home with loving parents, James and Margaret Robinson, along with his older brother Jim and younger sister Suzi in Plymouth, Michigan.

He graduated from Plymouth High School in June 1967 with honors. He went on to David Lipscomb College (now University) in Nashville, Tennessee to further his education and graduated magna cum laude in June 1971, with a BA degree in Bible and a minor in speech and Biblical languages.

While attending Lipscomb, he met Cheryl Anne Ray in freshman Bible class. (She sat in front of him!) On June 12, 1971, they married in Louisville, Kentucky. They have two grown children. Timothy, born January 4, 1975, is a Staff Sergeant in the Air Force, and he lives in Alaska with his wife, Nikki, and their 4-year-old daughter, Katie. (She’s a "Sweetie!") Andrew was born November 2, 1980, and he works for a financial institution here in Michigan, and he is presently living at home.

Dan has served as a preaching minister for several Churches of Christ over the past 36 years. These congregations include: Dunbar Road in Monroe, Michigan, 1971-1974; Marquette, Michigan, 1974-1980; Cannon Valley in Faribault, Minnesota, 1980-1985; South Beloit, Illinois, 1985-1988; Rockford, Illinois, 1988-1998; and Gateway in Southgate, Michigan, 1998-2005. He began his ministry with us here at the Metro Church of Christ in Sterling Heights, Michigan, in January 2006.

Dan is very knowledgeable in the Word, and his sermons can be heard here in the Sunday Sermon Audio section of our website. (He prefers that you hear them live, however! In that way, he gets to meet you. He loves people!) He also publishes "Daniel’s Den" every week, and you may also read his compositions on our website.

He has been very active in evangelism, visitation, premarital and marital counseling (which has led to several weddings this year), and he teaches one of the Sunday morning adult Bible classes. Dan is also a presenter in the Leadership Training Class, hosted monthly by the Van Dyke Church of Christ, in Warren, Michigan.

Other ministries in which he has been involved include: Christian camp counselor and teacher; 5th – step A.A. counselor; prison ministry; bus ministry; radio ministry; television ministry; volunteer hospital chaplain; and volunteer police chaplain. He has also been involved in Right-to-Life activities since 1977.

In his spare time, Dan enjoys star-gazing, riding his bicycle, playing baseball (if he can find a couple of guys), and playing his violin, mandolin, or guitar. He loves music and has a tremendous singing voice.
